Statue of Liberty to Reopen

On July 4th, millions of Americans will celebrate the independence of the United States. The Statue of Liberty will reopen for the public after Superstorm Sandy. Much of the 12-acre island flooded during the storm surge. John Warren, a spokesman for the Statue of Liberty National Monument stated, “People will have, more or less, the same access to Liberty Island that they had before.”
