On October 29, 2012, Superstorm Sandy earned its place in history as one of the costliest and most destructive natural disasters to disrupt the United States. We are quickly approaching the four-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy yet many homeowners still require assistance with their recovery. The Touro Law Center Disaster Relief Clinic in collaboration with U.S. Representative Kathleen Rice is hosting a walk-in legal clinic to provide free one-on-one legal consultations for all Nassau and Suffolk County Superstorm Sandy survivors.

The Clinic assists clients with various legal issues and disputes, which include:
- Assistance with the FEMA Sandy Claims Review Process
- Contractors who misappropriated funds or incorrectly performed contracted services
- FEMA recoupments of Individuals and Households Program (IHP) benefits
- Assistance with the NY Rising Program and NY Rising recoupments
PLEASE organize all of your paper work in advance as we will be accommodating 20-30 minute consultations, during which time we will review all of your documentation for the above listed legal Sandy related issues. Paperwork includes, but is not limited to: Flood insurance declaration page, prior adjustments for structure/contents, denial letters, invoices, receipts, photographs, NYR Award Letter/Grant, contracts.
