The Touro Law Center Disaster Relief Clinic has received an Honorable Mention and Award from FEMA, as part of the 2016 FEMA Individual and community Preparedness Awards in the categories of “Preparing the Whole Community” and “Community Preparedness Champions”.
These Awards recognize the outstanding efforts of individuals, programs, and organizations throughout the country working to prepare their communities for emergencies from January 1, 2015 through March 28, 2016. These awards highlight innovative practices and campaigns that have made outstanding contributions toward making communities safer, better prepared, and more resilient.
We are proud to be the only Law School Clinic who received the honorary mentions. FEMA received more than 160 applications from local and state governments, non-profits, the private sector, community-based organizations, and individuals.
